Acting as the highest body that governs the world football, FIFA is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1904 with its sole responsibility being sports governance.

Though founded in Paris,France, fifa hosts 211 national associations and thus making it the most powerful global football body.

FIFA serves as the parent organization to the six major continental football confederations namely, 

AFC - Asian football confederation

CAF - Confederation of African football

CONCACAF - Confederation of north, central America and Caribbean Association football

CONMEBOL - The South American football confederation or CSF

OFC - The Oceania football confederation

UEFA - The union of European football association.

Lately, FIFA ascertains several goals engraved on the organization's governing laws, including the association football expansion, championing integrity and fair play in the soccer world and also making it available to everyone .

Being a member of the international football association Board, FIFA oversees the organization and promotion of association football's major tournaments notably, the world cup and the women world cup.

Counting a whopping $4.6 billion in revenue for the year 2018, FIFA has been linked with several corruption cases including, vote rigging on Fifa's presidential elections and other bribery cases meant to alter financial happenings across the board.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the need to form a single body responsible of overseeing all the football activities on a global scale emerged and thus triggering the formation of the federation internationale de football association(FIFA).

With Belgium,Denmark,France,Netherlands,Spain represented by Madrid football club, the Royal Spanish football federation,Sweden,Switzerland and the German football association as the primary founding members, FIFA launched its mandate and since then, the organization has been termed as the giant body of the soccer world.

During the world war 1, FIFA almost came to an extinction following enemity between the Waring nations and players being sent to the battle fields in defence of their respective countries.

In 1930, the first world cup was held in Montevideo,Uruguay.

Close to the UEFA Champions league anthem, FIFA adopted an anthem composed by the German music genius Franz Lambert in 1994 fifa world cup. By the year 2000, the FIFA anthem has been playing during all the fifa affiliated competitions and friendlies , FIFA world cup, fifa U-17 world cup, FIFA women's world cup, FIFA U-20 women's world cup, FIFA futsal world cup and the ultimate FIFA world cup.

Though FIFA is headed by the president as the the top executive, a select committee from all the FIFA Continental confederations comes to play in every respective decision concerning FIFA's general happenings.
