The union of European football association (UEFA) is the governing body for football,Futsal and the beach soccer in Europe.

Made up of 55 national association members, UEFA is among the six FIFA Continental confederations.

Formed in 1954, UEFA controls all the national and club competitions around Europe including, UEFA champions league, UEFA europa league, UEFA national league, UEFA European championship and the uefa Super cup.

Regulating the prize money and all the media rights, UEFA membership coincides with the recognition as a sovereign country in Europe.

Headquartered in Paris until 1954, UEFA headquarters were moved to Nyon Switzerland.

Through out the FIFA world cup history, all the national teams represented by uefa are known for their consistent success in their domains.

With France as the current FIFA world cup champion, Italy and Germany has four titles each followed by Spain and England with one title each.

Responsible for organizing the so called big five in the soccer world, Germany, Italy, England, Spain and France makes up FIFA's most successful European leagues consisting of Spain's La liga, England's premier league, Germany's Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A and the france ligue 1.
