Founded by the French football federation federation couple de France also referred to all the coupe Charles Simon is a France football knockout competition cup that hosts both pro and semi professional clubs in France. Named after the French sportsman Charles Simon who died in 1915 while serving in world war 1, coupe de France finals happens at the Stade de France which is the national stadium of France.
With a seating capacity of 80,000+, Stade de France is the 8th largest stadium in Europe that is to host the on coming 2024 summer Olympics opening and closing ceremonies and the 2023 rugby world cup.
With an added advantage for the amateur clubs, the competition forces the higher ranked clubs to play as the away team when a draw happens against a lower league team.
Though taking sides with the semi professional clubs, only two clubs outside ligue 1 have won the competition since 1932.
Beating saint Etienne in the finals of the 2019-20 season ,Paris saint Germain are the reigning champions for the 13th time and five consecutive wins since 2015.
